I had a student give me a hard time because I hadn’t posted any new work lately, so I finally got out the computer and got to work tonight. There are Nine new pieces up, and I will try to add more later this week. Let me know what you think of the new stuff.
So it was such a nice day today… 55 in January, in Indiana, that I decided to head up to the roof to do some work. I have been meaning to head up to the roof of the art center for a while to check on ventilation stuff, but once I got up there I turned into a little kid. What is it about being on the roof of a building that is sooooo cool. Anyway, we got our work done and learned a lot about some issues going on with that stuff and it was all a good time.
This pot went for a ride the other day… Traveled as greenware just fine… Always buckle up!

So when people ask me what I have been up to lately, I try to explain to them that we totally gutted all of our studios, took out an old kiln, moved in a new kiln, painted all the studios, and moved everything back…. IN A WEEK AND A HALF. Yep, its been a busy one, but we are ready for classes on Monday at the Indianapolis Art Center. Looking forward to it.
A friend and I have started brewing beer and instead of buyin a fermenter we decided a clay one would do just fine.. Because it will sit in their living room we decided it needed decoration so here it is. Well glaze it lots of crazy colors later. Quite the conversation piece right?
These are just a few more things that gave me ideas for potential pieces to make. Some of these are also ideas for a class I am offering at the art center about using ceramic in conjunction with metal and wood. Should be a great time.
Lots of copper pieces too. Actually the last item is an old fire extinguisher… awesome
These are all the silver pieces I found (that I liked). There were tons of plated silver and fine silver pieces. I love the feet and lift that many of these pieces have. In addition they give me more ideas for shapes and forms. Great inspirations.
